Initial training


Intial training



This expert-level program helps keep healthcare professionals prepared and ready to respond as they encounter life-threatening emergencies, provide basic life support, and respond to choking
and other airway obstruction incidents. ASHI’s Basic Life Support, BLS for Healthcare Providers and Professional Rescuers has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). The program is also CAPCE approved and widely accepted in more than 150 healthcare-related occupations.

The BLS Combination program is designed for individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level basic life support and First Aid training.

Bloodborne Pathogens program includes information that will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others. Serious and life-threatening medical emergencies often cause oxygen to be depleted in the body leaving the victim at risk for shock. The ASHI Emergency Oxygen program focuses on administering emergency oxygen to breathing and non-breathing persons, emergency oxygen delivery systems, and integrating pulse oximetry.

Child and Babysitting Safety 


A course for building a safe and successful babysitting business
Child And Babysitting Safety (CABS) Babysitting is usually a teenager’s first attempt at building and running a small business.
Our new Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course comes in a magazine-format guide designed to engage and inform the aspiring babysitter. It gives teenagers everything they need to know, from getting started, to dealing with parents and children, to key safety,caregiving, and first aid tips.

Wilderness First Aid


Wilderness First Aid - WFA & CPR     2 day

Have you ever wondered what you would do if someone in your group broke their leg skiing or your climbing partner was struck in the head by a rock? Every backcountry skiing, climbing or mountaineering group should have people trained in wilderness first aid skills because it's only a matter of time in before you will need to put them into use in the backcountry.
Wilderness First Aid - WFA (18 hours) is an entry level, 2 day course for those who are involved in wilderness activities. This course is the choice of many recreational skiers, climbers and mountaineers. Basic first aid skills will be taught in the classroom and practiced hands-on in the wilderness environment. This course also meets the requirements for a 
WFR Refresher.

Lecture and discussion, practical exercise and outdoor scenarios help students gain confidence, and encourage the development of critical decision making skills. After successful completion students are certified for 2 years by the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), a nationally recognized organization.


Skills covered will include:

  • Patient assessment
  • Recognizing and treating shock
  • Bandaging and bleeding control
  • Splinting fractures, sprains and dislocations
  • Assessing head and spinal injuries
  • Treating hypothermia
